Men arrive at my practice for various reasons, often under their own steam because of what is happening around them or because they feel low; feelings or events bring them here. Occasionally, men come because their partner has given them an ultimatum to do something. Few expect to see someone like me, yet they find it good to finally talk about their feelings and what is going on.
It is clear that men find it challenging to talk about emotions, so it is sometimes better to talk about what is going on for them instead: that’s why I offer two ways of thinking about entering counselling.
